Fall Play 2022
AUDITION INFORMATION

How to get cast
in an HTC Production!

(Hint: Read everything on this page and scroll all the way to the bottom.)

What kind of play is it?

Visit the "This Season" page for information about the play.

What are your Covid-19 policies?

Every student who auditions must be fully vaccinated and boosted according to the CDC vaccination schedule.  There are no exceptions to this rule.  When booster shots become available for the Omicron variant, it will be required that you receive it for you to remain in the production.

Vaccination status and documentation cards will be collected through the Cast Information Form.  A copy of your vaccination card must be on file.

Do I need to prepare for the audition?

There is no need to prepare anything before auditions, as everything you will need to know will be explained at the auditions!

If I am cast, what is the time commitment like?

If you’re wondering whether you have the time to become involved in HTC, you may peruse the Fall Production Calendar on the Calendar page of this website so that you are clear about the extensive time commitment for the production.

Sign up to join the Google Calendar or print out a copy of the Calendar for your easy reference and coordinate your other important calendars to see if our schedule will have any conflicts with yours.   (It is recommended you use the WEEK view to see the full impact of the schedule.) Also, see Calendar Quick Reference Guide to the left for an overview of scheduling information.

Students who have very few conflicts with the rehearsal schedule are more likely to be cast than those who have many other commitments.

Being in an HTC show sounds so awesome! How do I sign up for an audition?

Auditions for this year's HTC Fall Play The Liar will be held on August 31st and September 1st.  Callbacks will be September 2nd.

Sign up for a time on either of the audition days. Groups are limited to four actors. Do not be alarmed if there are missing group times. When a group is full, it will no longer appear as an option. To sign up to for an audition time, use the link to the Google Form below!

The audition activities will include movement work, paired improvisation, and group collaboration.  The audition panel will be looking for individual confidence and charisma, willingness to take direction, and the ability to work with others.

Also required, parents must complete one type of our parent orientation presentations-- 1. attend the Parent meeting on September 1st at 6:30 p.m via Zoom

OR

2. complete the following "HTC Parent Orientation Presentation" option by 7:00pm on September 1st.

If parents are not able to attend the Zoom meeting, they can complete the HTC Parent Orientation Presentation online instead.  This mini-course will take about an hour to read and complete the few questions at the end of each segment.  This is about equivalent to the time the actual Parent Meeting would last.

Auditionees should be sure to discuss their interest to participate in the fall play with their parents, and be sure one of their parents is able to attend the mandatory Parent Meeting via Zoom on September 1st at 6:30 p.m or complete the Parent Orientation Presentation ON TIME (by 7:00 pm on September 1st.)

Students whose parents do not attend the Meeting or do not complete the Orientation Presentation will be ineligible for casting.  The meeting or orientation is mandatory for all parents of prospective company members, even if the company member has been in seven prior productions.

Step #3 - Fill Out the Necessary Forms

The first three forms below must be completed in their entirety and submitted online.

It would help the process for auditionees to submit the Cast Information Form from home before auditions, but computers will be available in Room M6 for anyone who needs one to complete this form before auditioning. If an auditionee is unable to fill out this form in advance, they should plan on arriving at least 15 minutes early to their audition appointment and remember to bring their vaccination card.

The Rehearsal Conflict Form and Cast FAQ/Company Contract are due by Friday, September 2nd at 5:00pm.  Failure to turn these in on time will prevent you from being considered for a role.

The final required form, the Consent to Treatment form, will be filled out by a parent or legal guardian.  Parents will need to fill out the form at home and have their student bring it with them to the audition. If an auditionee should forget to have their parents fill out the form before their audition, it must be brought to the first rehearsal.

Without a signed Consent to Treatment form, no one is allowed to be in the theatre or rehearsal hall when rehearsals begin on Tuesday, September 6th.
