The second step is for YOU to learn all about the Hannon Theatre Company and decide whether being a member of our team is a good fit for you.

Read over the following FAQ page to learn about how our company operates.  If you agree with the policies, you are eligible to audition.

To show you have done so, fill out the questions included in the Google Form.

2

Now you should find out what the time commitment looks like.  Make sure you will be available for rehearsals in the fall before auditioning.  Look over the months of September, October, and November.

3

4

Fill out the Google Form below after consulting the calendar.  The fewer conflicts you place on your Rehearsal Conflict Form, the more likely you are to be cast.  Make sure you have consulted your parents about all upcoming family events, doctor's appointments, confirmation classes, etc. that may impact your availability.  You will not be allowed to add more conflicts to this conflict form after you have been cast.

5

Decide whether you’d like to audition on Wednesday, Sept. 1 or on Thursday, Sept. 2 from 3:30 to 5:30.   Make an appointment to join one of the groups on either day by going to the Google Form below and signing yourself up for an available time slot that works for you.  There is no advantage to signing up for an early appointment or a later appointment.

Each audition group will be required to stay for a couple of activities over a half hour to forty minute period.

If you have any trouble at all with scheduling, do not hesitate to email the Artistic Director, Mr. Walter Wolfe at wwolfe@loyolahs.edu and he will be happy to help you.

6

We need to know who you are!  Fill out this Google Form with all of your pertinent contact information and experience in performing.  No experience is necessary.  However, if you do have performing experience, it would be helpful for the directors to know.

7

Lastly, read the information below about what you will be doing at auditions and how to put your best foot forward.

BEFORE YOUR AUDITION DAY:  SEPTEMBER 1 or 2

YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE A COPY OF YOUR
CDC VACCINATION VERIFICATION CARD AND BRING IT, SO PUT IT IN YOUR BACKPACK.

Make sure you have filled out the forms above.  (If you have problems, you can rest assured that HTC's Stage Manager Elias Sarmiento will be able to help you before you audition.)

You do not need to prepare any material for the auditions. Everything will be provided for you at that time.

Try not to be nervous. -- It will all be okay!

ON YOUR AUDITION DAY: SEPTEMBER 1 or 2

Auditions are held in Room M4 "The Black Box" of Loyola High School's Berendo Music Building. Check in is in Room M6 "The Green Room."  Make sure you go to the correct building, and ask any company member where to find the "Green Room."

If you are a prospective cast member from one of our sister schools, you can ask for directions from our security team located near the Dewey Street parking lot.  From Pico Boulevard, turn south on Dewey Street and drive to the Security area after all of the parking spots.  They can direct you to the Berendo Building parking lot.

CHECK IN:

Arrive to the Berendo Music Building ten minutes before your appointment time.  Head to the Green Room (Room M6).  Arriving before the time you signed up for on Tuesday, September 1 or Wednesday, September 2 will help you be better prepared as there is a lot to do before you actually begin your audition.

Our Stage Manager will be there to check you in.  He will collect the copy of your CDC Vaccination Verification Card.

He will also be there to help you if you had trouble with any of the online forms.   Bring your laptop if you have had trouble with the online forms.

At Auditions, a printed copy of the "Consent To Treatment Form" will be available, and you will need to take it home and return it if you are needed at Callback Rehearsals.  This form must be returned signed by your parents or you will be ineligible to be cast.

IT'S TIME FOR YOUR AUDITION!

The stage managers will usher you into the Black Box (Room M4) when it is the appropriate time.  The only thing you have to worry about is having fun and doing whatever the panel asks you to do!

A typical audition begins with a quick warm-up of some kind.  Then,  you will be asked to work on a reading with a partner from your audition group.  You will then be asked to return with your partner to present it for the auditioners with no less than ten minutes preparation. Your total time at the audition may be as much as forty minutes.

AFTER YOUR AUDITION and ALL OTHER AUDITIONS:

Make sure your parents attend the Zoom meeting on Wednesday, September 2 at 7:00 pm.

Then, after eight o’clock on Wednesday, September 2, you should log on to www.hannontheatre.com to see the callbacks list and final cast list.

If your name is on the Callbacks List, you will need to return to the Berendo Music Building at 3:30 on Thursday, September 6.

If your name is not on the Callbacks List, unfortunately, we will not be able to cast you in this production.  However, the HTC Stage Crew will be accepting applications after Labor Day!  Come back to the website for more information on the JOIN CREW page.

IF NEEDED, COME TO CALLBACKS FRIDAY, SEPT. 3 FROM 3:30 TO 5:00

Callbacks will be tailored to the needs of the auditioners.  Have fun and relax!

AFTER YOUR CALLBACK AUDITION:

When you get home on Friday, September 3,  the final cast list may have been posted.  Due to possible discrepancies in the paperwork, Mr. Wolfe may need extra time to complete casting.  The cast list will be posted no later than Sunday night, September 5.  You will get an email that the cast list has been posted on hannontheatre.com

If you are cast, IMMEDIATELY accept your role by e-mailing Mr. Wolfe at wwolfe@loyolahs.edu.  If you need to decline at the last moment, make sure that you e-mail him concerning this decision as well.

Reminder:  At the bottom of your audition form, you should have checked one of the boxes regarding your casting preference.  If you’d like to talk to Mr. Wolfe about your casting, you will need to email him and set up an appointment for the following week.

If cast, you will need to attend the first cast meeting on Tuesday, September 7 at 3:45

If you are not cast, please know that Mr. Wolfe and the whole Hannon Theatre Company thank you for your audition.
