FULL Parent Orientation Presentation available at:

As part of our commitment to a well-rounded theatre education for our students, we produce a play from the Shakespeare canon every three years.  This triennial production allows every student who goes through the program to experience the joy of Shakespeare first hand -- at least once during their four year tenure.

However, in order for the stress of learning such elevated language to be minimized, we have auditions in May the previous school year.  That way, we can cast the lead roles and the actors can take the summer to memorize their lines before rehearsals begin.

Because the nature of Preliminary Auditions is a little different, there are a few things that need to be agreed upon by students and parents alike.  The first button below will take prospective company parents to an agreement Google Form. They should read it and answer each of the questions in order for their student to be eligible to audition.

The second button will take prospective auditionees to a Google Form which they should fill out.   If they cannot agree to each of the stipulations, they should not audition.

If you are a prospective or returning student member auditioning to be in the upcoming production, read over the FAQ page of this website to learn about how our company operates.  If you agree with the policies, you are eligible to audition.  To show you have done so, fill out the questions included in the Google Form.

.Make sure you will be available for rehearsals in the fall before auditioning.  Look over the months of September, October, and November.

Decide whether you’d like to audition on Wednesday,

May 23 from 3:30 to 5:30, or on Thursday, May 24
from 3:30 to 5:30.
Make an appointment to join one of the groups on either day by going to this website and filling out a time slot:

If you have any trouble at all with scheduling, do not hesitate to email the Artistic Director, Mr. Walter Wolfe at and he will be happy to help you.   Each audition group will be required to stay for a couple of activities over a forty minute period.

You do not need to prepare anything for the auditions, everything will be provided for you at that time.  Try not to be nervous. -- It will all be okay!

Auditions are held in Loyola High School's Berendo Building. Make sure you go to the correct building -- your GPS setting could be for 1508 S. Berendo Street, LA, CA 90006.

Go to the Green Room (M6) at the time you signed up for on Wednesday, May 23

Our Stage Managers will be there to check you in.  They will also be there to help you if you had trouble with any of the online forms.   Computers will be available and the stage manager will help you complete them.

At Auditions, a printed copy of the "Consent To Treatment Form" will be available, and you will need to take it home and return it if you are needed at Callback Rehearsals.  This form must be returned signed by your parents or you will be ineligible to be cast.

In the Black Box (M4):

Have fun and do whatever the panel asks you to do!

After a quick warm-up,   you will be asked to work on something else with a group from your audition group.  You will then be asked to return with your partners to present it for the auditioners with no less than ten minutes preparation. Your total time at the audition may be as much as
forty-five minutes.

At home:  Wednesday Evening, May 23

After eight o’clock on Wednesday evening, log on to to see the callbacks list.

Understand that if your name is listed, you will need to return on Friday, May 25 at 3:30 for callback auditions.

If your name was not listed, thank you for your audition and you may audition once again in September for an ensemble role.

If your name was listed on the Callbacks List, you will need to arrive to the Black Box (M4) on Friday, May 25 at 3:30 for final casting exercises.

Have fun.  Also, check with the stage managers that you have indeed completed all the necessary paperwork and online forms.

At home: Friday, May 25:  11:00 p.m.

Hopefully, after eleven o’clock p.m., read the cast list at  If there are discrepancies in the paperwork, Mr. Wolfe may need extra time to complete casting.

If you were cast, IMMEDIATELY accept your role by e-mailing Mr. Wolfe at  If you need to decline at the last moment, make sure that you e-mail him concerning this decision as well.

Reminder:  At the bottom of your audition form, you should have checked one of the boxes regarding your casting preference.  If you’d like to talk to Mr. Wolfe about your casting, you will need to email him and set up an appointment for the following week.

If cast, you will need to pick up your copy of the script from Mr. Wolfe so that you can begin memorizing your role.

We will have a read-through of the play on a date agreed upon by those cast.  The date will be discussed at Callbacks.

If you are not cast, please know that Mr. Wolfe and the whole Hannon Theatre Company thank you for your audition.  Not all the roles will be cast during these preliminary auditions.  Ensemble roles will be cast in September after the Final Auditions.  Make plans to attend those rehearsals in the first week of September.
