productions for the 2017-18 season!
fall play 2017
HTC is gearing up to present Argonautika, a thrilling re-telling of the Jason and the Argonauts legend written by Tony Award-winning director and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Mary Zimmerman. Renowned worldwide for her unique brand of theatre, Zimmerman’s poetic script and innovative staging have inspired our talented actors, directors, and designers to create something truly special with a style all our own. Our production celebrates Zimmerman’s modern text through the use of sensational choreography, fun special effects, massive puppetry, and a haunting, original, choral score.
Come join us and Jason on a dangerous quest for the Golden Fleece—an epic journey of love and loss, hubris and honor, danger and adventure. We will confront giants, kings, sirens, nymphs, centaurs, sea monsters and one heartsick sorceress. This timely play with its universal themes explores the enigma of love – how it can lift us closer to God at the same time it can cause our destruction. Argonautika promises to be everything our audiences have come to expect in a Hannon production: an action-packed story with a sense of humor and a moving message.

spring musical 2018
Hannon Theatre is excited to present the iconic and inspiring musical, Godspell as it fits beautifully with our innovative story-telling style.
Using a variety of games and storytelling techniques, Jesus’s life and his eventual persecution is told through parables from the Gospel of Matthew. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus’s message of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.
Godspell was the first major musical from a young Stephen Schwartz, who went on to write such mega hits as Wicked, Pippin and Hunchback of Notre Dame. It features an eclectic blend of songs ranging from pop to vaudeville, including "Day By Day," "Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord" and "By My Side."**
