FALL PLAY 2014
Getting Cast in an HTC Production
Step #1 - Look Over the Production Calendar and
Reconcile Your Schedules
If you’re wondering whether you have the time to become involved in HTC, you may peruse the Fall Play Production Calendar on the Calendar page of this website so that you are clear about the extensive time commitment for the production. Print out a copy of the Calendar for your easy reference and coordinate your other important calendars to see if our schedule will have any conflicts with yours.
Step #2 - Sign up to Audition
HTC Fall Play auditions occur the week after Labor Day. This year, due to student activities on Friday, September 5, Auditions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 2 and 3. Choose one of those dates to attend. Should you be invited back to the final "callback" auditions, you will need to be in attendance on Thursday, September 4.
Again, students interested in auditioning are required to attend one of the audition sessions on either Tuesday, September 2 or Wednesday, September 3 or Auditions will begin at 3:00 p.m. Check in with the Stage Managers in Room M6 to get a number. The earlier you audition, the earlier you may leave, but you will be asked to be in attendance for at least an hour. Young ladies attending auditions will need to arrive by 4:30 to be seen.
Be sure to discuss this interest to participate with your parents, and be sure one of your parents is able to attend the mandatory Parent Meeting before auditions on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. or after auditions Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Parents should sign-up to attend by emailing Mr. Wolfe at email@example.com. Students whose parents do not attend will be ineligible for casting. The meeting is mandatory for all parents of prospective company members.
Step #3 - Fill Out the Necessary Forms
The forms on the left must be completed in their entirety and submitted online. It would help the process for you to submit them before auditions, but computers will be available for you to complete them before auditioning in Room M6.
The final required form, the Consent to Treatment form, will be filled out by a parent in person when he/she attends the mandatory Parent Meeting as listed above (have them be sure to bring insurance information). Without a signed Consent to Treatment form, no one is allowed to be in the theatre or rehearsal hall.
Step #4 - Preparing for the Audition?
There is no need to prepare anything before auditions, as everything you will need to know will be explained on the day you choose to audition.
Step #5 - Be ready to attend Call-backs on Friday
After auditions on Thursday, the audition panel will decide on which performers need to return to the final call-backs on Friday at 4:00. The list of those needed for call-backs will be posted on the website.
